PLAYING THE GAME: Baccarat is played with eight (8) decks of cards dealt from a shoe similar but larger than one used at a Blackjack game. The cards are dealt by the player (designated as the Curator) rather than by the dealer. The player may pass the shoe to the next player i fhe doesn't wish to deal. On a winning Player's hand, the shoe must pass to the next player. There are only two hands dealt in the game of Baccarat totaling not less than four and more than six cards. The first and third cards are dealt to the Player's hand and the second and fourth cards are dealt to the Banker's hand. The dealer calls the point count of the cards and requests additional cards when appropriate. These cards are dealt face up to the Player's hand and then to the Banker's hand. In no event shall more than one additional card be dealt to either hand. You have the option of wagering on the Player's, or the Banker's hand with the winning hand paying 1 to 1. You may also bet on a tie hand. If the Player's hand and the Banker's hand total the same, the tie bet is paid 8 to 1. If they do not total the same, the tie bet is lost. The highest hand in Baccarat is 9. The object of the game is to bet on the hand which will have the highest point count. Cards from 2 through 9 have their face value. An Ace counts as 1. Tens, Jacks, Queens, and Kings have a value of 0. When the 2 or 3 cards in a hand are added together, only the right hand number of the final figure counts. A wager on the Player's hand wins if the point count is higher than that of the Banker's hand; loses if the point count is lower; and is void if the point count is equal. A wager on the Banker's hand wins if the point count is higher than that of the Player's hand; loses if the point count is lower; and is void if the point count is equal. There is one exception, when playing the Banker's hand and you win, there is a 4% or 5% commission charged on the winning Banker's hand. The commission is marked in the commission box in front of the dealer and is collected at the time the winning payoff is made or prior to re-shuffling the cards in the shoe and in no event is deferred beyond such point. Minibaccarat is an exciting and new addition. Minibaccarat plays by rules similar to Baccarat only on a smaller scale. Tables seat six and are located on the gaming floor, the shoe remains with the dealer throughout play instead of with the player (players are not permitted to handle the cards) and the minimum bets are lower allowing for the novice to learn the game while trying his luck.
