A MeetingHe was standing in our garden said hello, and asked my name. Told me once he used to live here But it didn't look the same. Said there used to be a willow in the corner, where it's wet, That he'd climbed right to the top, said he'd done it for a bet. He was glad we'd kept the apple trees, That they still had apples on, said he liked to think another boy would eat them, now he'd gone. Then he thanked me for his visit He was happy, now he'd been, said that I could tell my mum I'd met a man called Billy Treen. When I told my mum she turned quite pale And didn't say a lot. I didn't ask her what was wrong, I thought I'd better not. But I found a gravestone near the church And now I think I know, Cause it says they buried Billy Treen one hundred years ago. The End I hope you liked my story. I'm not going to say if it's true or not, try and work it out for yourself. Bye, from Garry |
