Bellrose Road

My best friend Karen had moved from a small apartment in Chicago to a beautiful house in the suburbs. 

She had only been living in the apt. because her house was being built. She called 2 weeks after she had moved in and told me she had met a girl named Jessica and she wanted all three of us to spend a night at her house so we could meet. When I got there I felt like kicking open the car door and running up the stairs to her door. I open the door and before I close it Karen was running down the stairs in a hurry. 

The house was beautiful. Skipping the afternoon, Jessica came at about 8:00pm. We watched a few movies and Karen's Mother said it was time to go to bed. We talked about how the city was different from the suburbs. 

A while went by and we realized Jessica was feeling left out so we decided to do a group break out. For those who don't know what that is it's when the party moves outside. It got boring after a while of ringing doorbells and running so Jessica offered to sneak into her house. Jessica opened her front door which amassed me because you can't do that in the city. 

We went to Jessica's basement which humbled me because it was about the size of my apartment. She said her aunt lived there. I asked if she was sleep and Jessica responded with a smart "forever". I didn't get it at first then I asked in a loud voice" that that mean she's dead!' Jessica turned quickly with an attitude and said yes she died like a year ago. Now it's a guest bedroom. 

I immediate felt like someone was watching us. I asked if we could leave and they said no and I didn't want to go by myself so I stayed. We went into a room that was so pretty I fantasized that it was mine for just a second. To make this long story short I went in the bathroom And looked in the mirror the lights went off. I thought it was one of the girls playing with me. It was funny at first then I remembered the room used to be accommodated by Jessica's dead aunt. 

hat's when I got serious. I told them if they didn't let me out I would scream. The lights didn't go on and the door didn't open. I saw a figure in the mirror and I thought it was once again one of the girls so I began to kick in that direction. Nothing was there. I knew it was something so I began to pray. 

I couldn't scream it was like something had come over me and I couldn't scream,. I prayed the same prayer over and over again. Please LORD take it away please Lord take it away. An hour seemed to pass and finally the door opened but there was no one in the room. 

I began to panic because it was pitch black and I didn't know my way around the house. I went for the door and when I got out there, there was a figure of a women but it looked like a man it was bald. 

I stopped so scared because I thought it was one of Jessica's parents. I didn't know what to say so I didn't say anything. we stood there for about 5 seconds and I realized I could barely see through it I almost pasted out I could feel my heart beat in my through my throat. It hurt. The last thing I remember was it saying I'm fine now. I ran up the stairs and out the door. I jumped over her front gate and ran home. 

When I got to Karen's house they were there I was so pissed. They told me they couldn't find me and they thought I had gone home because I was scared. I immediately told them my story and burst into tears. Karen called me stupid and said I was lying. I was so busy trying to prove my story to Karen we didn't notice Jessica in the corner crying her eyes out. 

We went over there to console her and she gave me a big hug and said her aunt had had died of cancer. They had to deal with her euthanasia. She thinks when she said I'm fine now she meant their decision to take her off life support was okay. I cried too not only because it was a sad story but because I couldn't believe I had stood next to a ghost that long. I also realized it took me 30 seconds to run what took us 5 minutes to walk. 

So if you are ever in Oakhurst in IL stay away from Bellrose Road.
