I Never Ever Imagined

 I live in a fairly new house (about 9 years old) in a fairly new neighborhood. 

I never EVER imagined that anything out of the ordinary would ever happen here. Everything was totally normal for about five years and then my grandmother died. It was quite sudden but she was very old. That's when I started getting strange feelings every now and then. I never SAW anything but every once and a while I'd have a really strong feeling like there was someone else present in a room with me when there wasn't (well, not living!). Then, one night I was sitting in the computer room typing away. 

It was about 11 or so at night and I was just checking my e-mail before I went off to bed, something I do every night, so nothing out of the ordinary. My parents were upstairs asleep as well as my little brother and the only light on in the house was a little one on the wall in the computer room behind me. 

So the hallway outside the room was completely dark. I was only responding to an e-mail from a friend, so I wasn't at all in a "spooky" mood like how I sometimes get after watching a scary movie or something; nothing like that at all. I wasn't even THINKING About ghosts. 

Well, the next thing I know, I see this white blur out of the corner of my eye in the hall. The room got extremely cold and I all of a sudden got a feeling of extreme fright. I looked out the door into the hall and clearly saw my grandmother running past. About as fast as it had come, the apparition ( or whatever you call it) was gone. The room became a normal temperature again and the hall dark, but I still had a terrible frightened feeling. 

The spirit had been wearing a long white gown and the strange thing was it didn't look like my grandmother was standing there. She was almost blurry as if I had seen her through the mirror into another world. I got up and went into the hall calling for my mom thinking that maybe it was her and my mind was playing tricks on me. But she was still sound asleep. 

I got really freaked out and started running up the stairs calling for her. She opened the door and ironically said "My God, what's the matter with you. You look like you've seen a ghost" !!!!!!!!!!! Kind of funny. I told her what I'd seen and she believed me probably because she had a similar experience when she was younger.  

But that's my story about my "glimpse into the after world" people say they feel warm and fuzzy when they see dead relatives appear before them--but not me. I was very scared and I hope I never see anything "unusual" again! 

And I hope I never have to have anyone say to me "What's the matter with you, you look like you've seen a ghost" :)
