Spirits at OSU

I am a security officer at the OSU campus at Newark, Ohio. 

We have four large buildings, Hopewell, LeFevre, Adena and Founders. It is Founder shall that this story takes place. The anatomy classes are held on the third floor of Founders and the rooms hold several human bodies, so as one can imagine it can get somewhat spooky late at night.         

On December 12, 1998 I took an evening shit for a friend, my duties were to lock down and secure all buildings, not too difficult. I had locked down all of Founders Hall and was ready to exit it for the next building when I heard footsteps upstairs. Knowing that no one should have been there, but that it happens occasionally {someone gets locked in} I went upstairs to investigate. 

Once I was on the third floor, I could clearly hear the footsteps so I followed them, but was unable to locate the individual. I therefore locked down all of the rooms so if he/she was in one of them I would here them leave, and they would be unable to get back into any one of them if they tried. After this was completed, I still heard them, and then I herd the elevator bell, so I ran for the elevator and made it just in time to see inside before the door shut, no one was there.        

I could hear that it was headed for the first floor, so I ran down the stairs and met it to see the doors open with no one inside. Just then I heard the buttons on the inside get pushed, the doors shut and it headed back up to the third floor.

I again ran to the top, to find nothing, this time I got inside of the elevator, just then I saw the buttons get pushed, and not by me! the doors shut and my flashlight went out. (keep in mind the buildings lights have all been turned out, the only light is my flashlights, and now it's out!!} The elevator stopped on the second floor, I darted out, and as soon as I got outside my flashlight came back on!!        

All I know is that it really spooked me, may be there isa a explanation for it, but I surely have not thought of one yet!
