Dad and the Dishes

My dad died on September 6th 1996 (he was hit by a car). 

So after he died some things happened (not bad things) just things that let us know he was with us. 

The first thing happened not long after the funeral. My dad had this thing about dishes, he would always through them away because he felt we had too many (I think he just didn't like washing them) and my mom would always get mad at him for throwing them away. 

Anyways one day many of our dishes were missing! My mom looked for a long time then finally found them in our basement.

My dad was very comical so we all think he was playing a joke on my mom so she'd loosen up. 

The next think that happened was on Christmas. We live in Chicago so we get snow but my was always saying how she wanted a white Christmas. What she meant was even though we have snow on the ground on Christmas she wanted snow to be snowing on Christmas. 

Well on Christmas day it snowed all day and all night. So we think that was my dad's present to my mom. Soon after Christmas is my dad's birthday January 4th. The next thing happened on his birthday. Now my dad's absolute favorite weather was Hot and humid summer weather, he also loved the rain. January of 97 was perfectly normal (cold, at least in the 20 or thirty degrees) except on the day of my dad's birthday. 

I remember my two friends coming to my door with no coats on, asking if I wanted to come out and play. I was like "where are your coats?" They were like "we don't need coats, it's warm out!".

Then I looked out side and noticed all the snow was melting. When I went outside and noticed that it was very humid and warm it must have been 70 degrees. It started getting cold again the next day. I never remember anything like that happening at least as long as I've been around (17 years). 

We never have warm weather like that in January and if we did It probably would last just one day. I know that that happened because of my dad. 

Since that year nothing like that has really happened.
