Figures in the Night

There are lots of weird, unexplainable things that happen in my house.

We just bought it brand new about 5 years ago. At first, nothing strange happened, but then little things started to occur.

The first thing that i noticed, was when i was about 13. I had been hanging out with my mom in the den, when i got up to go get a drink. We have like a window thing that allows you to look into the kitchen. So as i'm walking, i look into the kitchen and i see some stuff written on the microwave screen where the time is supposed to appear.

As i got closer, i could see words. They spelled out CHILD. I got so freaked out. I yelled for my mom to come. She looked at it and told me to press the clear button. I did and it disappeared. It never happened again, but after that, other things started happening.

My mom would be lying in bed and she would get the feeling that someone was looking at her. So she would turn towards the doorway and she would see the head and shoulders of a small child's figure. This happened a couple of times, and then one day my mom asked me if i had been looking in at her. I said no. She also said that she thought it was weird, because when people walk around the house, you hear the floor creaking and she said that she didn't hear anything after the figure that was looking at her left.

One night i was laying in bed trying to go to sleep. I have a china cabinet right across from my bed. As i was looking into it, i could see my reflection in the class and then i swore i saw a dark figure too.

I got kind of scared and decided to turn so i couldn't see into it. Well a few minutes later i felt pressure on my feet which were at the bottom of the bed, and i could see the indentation as if someone was sitting on my bed. I got so scared that i just turned and tried to go to sleep.

My little brother has the room right next to me and he would always get so scared. In the middle of the night he would wake up and he would stay awake the rest of the night. He said the room gave him a weird feeling and that he was scared of it. He started sleeping in the living room, or in my mom's room. After he turned 14, he stopped getting freaked out. But then the nightmares began.

He was the first one who got them. They were always about one of us being killed by someone else in the family. He told my mom about this and she said she had had dreams like that too. I thought they were silly until one night about 3 months later, i started having the same dreams. They scared the crap out of me. They were so real.

A lot of the time, i hear noises and stuff. Or i'll turn off my mom's tv and it will be on when she wakes up. I always feel like i'm being watched. I also contracted a phobia. Until we moved there, i had never had a problem with mirrors, but now i am so freaked out.

The bad thing is, my mom collects old fashioned mirrors. So i can't go anywhere without seeing them. I mean i am so afraid of them that i panic if i have to pass by them in the night. I don't know where this fear came from. But now that i am off at college, i have no problem with them...that is the weird part, it's only when i go home.

Also, this didn't happen in the house that i am living in now, but my dad had like visions. After my grandma (his mom) passed away, she came to him one night. She poked him in the chest/throat area and said, "watch out for this," then she was gone. He said that he sat straight up in bed covered in sweat and he had a horrible pain where my grandma had poked him. Still to this day we don't know what it means.

I don't know what could have caused my house to be haunted. I'm positive though, that it has to be the land that the house is on, because we are in a brand new development with all new houses.
