Eurail FAQ
Rail Europe is a US based agency for European and
UK rail products, including Eurail pass, BritRail, Eurostar, individual
country rail passes, multiple country passes, point-to-point tickets,
Rail ‘n Drive passes and more. Generally it's cheaper, faster and
easier to buy rail passes before you leave home.
| What is a Eurail pass - Eurail is the brand-name for a range
of international railpasses designed for overseas visitors to Europe.
The 17 countries participating in the Eurail are Austria, Belgium, Denmark,
Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg,
Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Eurail passes should be bought before leaving your home country.
| They
are not available to European, Turkey, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia or
Russian residents. |
| Eurail Passes and Tickets can be purchased worldwide, before
departing for Europe, from our authorised Sales Agents. |
| Since rail passes are intended for NON-European residents, it
is very difficult and more expensive to find an outlet to buy
these passes in Europe. Most Eurail Aid offices sell them, but
at a 15% higher rate. |
| Pricing is standardized for Eurail passes and all legitimate
vendors must sell passes at the same price. |
| Eurail passes are valid for travel in all of these countries. |
| If you do not need to travel in all of these countries, it's
usually cheaper to purchase individual or multiple country
passes. |
| An interesting variation is the Eurail Selectpass. The Eurail
Selectpass is good for travel on any 3 to 5 bordering countries
out of 22 European nations. Please note that there are 22
possible countries instead of 17 with the Eurail pass. |
